Shortarism is the sacred yet deeply practical belief that comfort, personal freedom, and sensible legwear are central to a well-lived life.

Its followers, known as Shortarians, gather under the banner of the Temple of the Eternal Breeze to honour the ancient truths of airflow, mobility, pockets, and knee liberation.

The Founding Myth

In the beginning, there was heat. And the people suffered beneath heavy fabric and poor decisions. Then came the First Breeze, and with it, the revelation that the knee was never meant to live forever in darkness.

The First Shortarian — whose name has been lost to history, but whose tan line endures — gazed upon their own legs and said: "This is correct. This is how things should be." And it was so.

The Sacred Garment

Shorts are not merely clothing. They are a symbol of comfort, practicality, humility, and ventilation. To wear them respectfully is to acknowledge that life is too short for unnecessary trousering.

The Temple holds no doctrine on specific brands, lengths, or materials — only that the garment must honour its purpose: to free the knee and welcome the breeze. Jorts are a matter of personal conscience.

The Motto

Free the Knee. Praise the Breeze.

Please note: Shortarism is presented as parody and satire. It does not provide legal, employment, or spiritual advice. Any resemblance to genuine religious doctrine is frankly a coincidence, albeit a comfortable one.
